Hey makers! We are happy to announce that V5 modules are currently under development. You may be wondering where is the V4 ecosystem and do I need to buy the new models to stay supported? Let's answer some of those questions and concerns really quick before we get to what the V5 ecosystem will include.
"Where is the V4 ecosystem?" We had been developing the V4 ecosystem but decided we could not justify the changes as a whole new ecosystem version, so we scrapped the idea and started from scratch again. Hence why we are now "technically" on V5. "If V4 wasn't released, why are you going to V5 instead of sticking with V4?" We are hoping to have a big launch for V5 and a restructuring of the naming, modularity system, and expanding our focus. As such, we felt jumping straight to V5 would result in a cleaner starting point for the new, better structured, ecosystem.
"Will my V1-3 ecosystem modules still be supported going forward?" Absolutely, in our minds those are still brand new, and we will try our absolute best to keep supporting older ecosystem versions as we move forward. Our mission has always been to support the maker or engineer with an adaptable ecosystem which will grow alongside your needs, not become obsolete and thrown out.
Now that we have answered some of the more important questions, we think you might have, let's move on to explaining what V5 will be all about. We are happy to announce that the V5 ecosystem will bring with it a whole new module, a three-breadboard station. While it isn't the most creative development when compared to our two other breadboard modules, we plan to make it potentially the most exciting one yet. We plan to introduce portable variants of existing and new modules which focus on field repair and prototyping. These portable modules will likely include a clamshell design to protect the breadboards and electronic components inside while in transport and can be quickly deployed in the field.

For those who may not need the portability, do not fret as the static version will still exist and will be cheaper. More information regarding the new modules and the V5 ecosystem will be released in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that!
